Hi, I'm Rie

and I've always been drawn to stories.

Not just the stories themselves, but the different ways they can be told, interpreted and remembered. That interest has shaped much of my career, from studying English, Media Studies and Design to teaching students how stories can be written, filmed and shared.

My current work in student equity in higher education has taken me across Western Australia, meeting people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. It continues to remind me that no two stories are ever the same; and that is exactly what I love.

Whether I'm teaching, writing, designing or behind the camera, I'm always drawn to the stories waiting to be told. Photography has been part of that journey for many years, capturing people, events and, eventually, the dogs whose stories became Tales by Mango.

Tales by Mango is where that love of storytelling meets muddy paws, windswept ears and the wonderfully unpredictable personalities of the dogs I get to meet.
